Domaine Florence Mejan
History
Domaine Mejan-Taulier, Tavel's first private winery, created in 1920 by Valéry Taulier. Later developed by André Méjan, the estate is now managed by Florence Méjan, granddaughter of the founder, surrounded by a team of enthusiasts.
Winery located in Tavel (Gard), the first special winery in the appellation. The estate produces Tavel rosé, Côtes du Rhône, Lirac and Laudun, from 36 hectares of old vines over 60 years old.
The Vineyard
36-hectare vineyard with the diversity of soils characteristic of Tavel (rolled pebbles, slate, sands), giving the wines a unique character and a rich Mediterranean aromatic palette. Main grape varieties: Grenache noir (sweetness and generosity), complemented by other Rhodanian grape varieties. Conduct in biodynamic agriculture aimed at rehabilitating and invigorating the organic life of the vineyard.
Certifications
Ecocert certified (organic farming) since 2012.
