Domaine Gael Martin
History
Family estate of winemakers from father to son since the end of the 19th century. Gaël Martin, 4th generation, moved to the family estate in 2004 at the age of 19 and took over the management in 2015, today supported by his wife Marie-Laure.
Family-run winery located in Saint-Vérand, straddling the Mâconnais and northern Beaujolais. The estate cultivates about 25 to 30 hectares spread over fifteen appellations: Mâcon-Fuissé, Saint-Véran, Bourgogne Blanc, Crémant de Bourgogne, Beaujolais and Beaujolais-Villages, as well as several Beaujolais wines (Juliénas, Saint-Amour, Chiroubles, Chénas).
The Vineyard
Vineyard straddling two terroirs: the Mâconnais (Chardonnay, limestone soils) and the northern Beaujolais (Gamay, granitic soils). Manual harvest, pneumatic pressing to preserve the fruit.
Certifications
Certified High Environmental Value (HVE) operation since October 11, 2018.
