On 7 September 1822, Brazil claimed its independence. A nation invented itself, with its language, its light, its own way of living the moment.
We chose this number for what it tells and for the love of our two countries, as the assertion of an identity shared by both. MAISON 1822 was born of a simple idea — two exceptional heritages, the great French terroirs and Brazilian energy, do not have to choose between one another. They answer each other.
On one side, centuries of patience: the mapping of the Burgundy climats, the discipline of Bordeaux blending, the long wait of Champagne cellars. On the other, a way of welcoming, of sharing, of celebrating that resembles no other. Our work is to carry the former to the latter.

September 2019, it all begins with an encounter.
Two cultures, two histories, two ways of looking at the world… but the same curiosity for beautiful things, for good moments and for the art of making them known and sharing them.
Over journeys, tables and discoveries, one thing became clear: French wine had every place in the Brazilian art of living. Not simply as a bottle to be imported, but as a story to tell, a terroir to discover, an emotion to share...

OUR CRAFT
MAISON 1822 is an import-export company for premium wines, champagnes and spirits. We select, we ship, we advise — from the plot to the glass.
That calls for three things: knowing the estates personally, mastering a demanding intercontinental supply chain, and knowing who you are speaking to. A grand cru is not sold like an everyday bottle. A restaurateur in Rio does not expect the same thing as a wine merchant in Paris.
OUR SELECTION
Fourteen wine regions, from Champagne to the Douro, from Burgundy to Victoria. Historic houses and family estates, chosen for the same reason: they make wines that tell of a place.
We are not after exhaustiveness. We are after precision — bottles whose presence here we can explain.
