Maison Galard-Bonnefoy

History

In 1895, Abel Galard, a wine and spirits merchant, acquired a 6-hectare vineyard near Jarnac, in the Charente department. His son Moses took over the estate, enlarged it and married Jeanne. Their son Léonce, born in 1909 — the year of the official geographical delimitation of Cognac — trained as a wine boiler at the Martell house and installed the first Charente stills on the farm in 1932. Paul Galard, born in 1933, began his career as a winemaker at an early age. The Second World War having deprived him of his grandfather, he ensures the production with his grandmother, his mother and his sisters. Anthony Galard, born in 1976, son of Paul and Danielle, perpetuates family history with passion. With a solid wine-making know-how and a great mastery of distillation, his art of blending and his quest for excellence allow him to offer exceptional eaux-de-vie. In 2017, Mr. Galard entrusted the global commercial development of his cognacs to Ms. Bonnefoy and Mr. Villier, within the "Maison Galard-Bonnefoy".

Maison Galard-Bonnefoy offers a range of cognacs selected and assembled by Mr. Galard, passionate winemaker and cellar master of his family house. Five generations of passion passed down from father to son since 1895, between Charente tradition and the demand for excellence.
